I suck at the moment, I’m feeling so uncreative right now. I’ve been working pretty much non-stop lately, every single day, to dry and save enough to be able to actually survive while I’m in the US. I’m sorry *sigh*

So firstly the happy news - I got a new laptop today, a HP Pavilion dv6820.. which looks a little like this:

For those of you who are nerdly like me and care about stats, it’s got an AMD Turion X2 dual-core processor, 2GB of SDRAM, a 250GB HDD, a nvidia GeForce 8400M GS, 15.4″ High-Def display, plus wifi, memory card reader, remote, etc, all that jazz. I luffs it. It’s currently replacing my PC, with that monitor plugged into the laptop so I’ve got two screens, which pwns. Plus it’s ever so pretty, got a inlaid pattern on the case and wrist rest. Not that I care about it being pretty, beign a manly man and all. lol.

Okay, sucky news time. My dear friends, the fiveawesomegirls got hacked by a complete asshole and are currently having their account restored. Hopefully it’ll all be sorted soon, but as always, my love goes out to them.

I seem to have a thing for alliterative titles recently, I can’t imagine why. Okay, so the first big news can be most acurately represented by the two images below:

Yep, that’s quite right - my YouTube Is.. collaboration video was featured on the Australia and New Zealand homepages and also side featured globally, which is, needless to say, completely freaking awesome. The video got about 100,000 new views within 40 hours and my subscriber total went past the 2,000 point, which is also awesome!

What is less than awesome is that I figured that having been featured and having over 2,000 subs would put me in the perfect position to apply for partnership again. I was wrong. I got turned down for the 3rd time. I’m rather bitter about this, so that is all I will say on the subject.

Sidenote: I love my friends and will miss them while they’re all away doing interesting things in the next few weeks. Summer can’t roll around fast enough. Fifty days.

Sorry I’ve not posted much recently - I’ve been predisposed with youtube and work. I worked eight hours today and I’ll be working four tomorrow and eight more on Monday. a lot of work, but it means funds for the summer.

With nothing much to say, other than the fact that I hit eighteen-hundred subscribers, which makes me happy, I think I’ll share a poem than I love and that I remembered because I was trying to PWN a friend in loving abilities (which is less pervy than it sounds). The poem is an extract of ‘100 Love Sonets’ by Pablo Neruda:

Not only have I forgotten to blog for the last day or two, but I also forgot that I have a shift at work in an hours time, alas, but I shall make an effort and squeeze this blogness in before I head off for four hours of serving customers (booo). [food break]. Okay, so the big news for today is that the collab is up and is FEPIC! You can check it out on my channel . go. now. Some more exciting news is that I’m on 1500 subs now, half way from 1000 to 2000, whooo! Something is happening today on 5Aguys that you should keep an eye out for and that will probably help me get closer to 2000, lol. Anyhoo, best dash, things to wash, places to work.

Okay, so perhaps I’m a recluse - but I’m one of those curious individual who only accepts friend request from people he knows. Now, I’m perfectly happy for people to add me on MySpace and stalk me on Twitter, but I have to much personal information on Facebook, that I only accept people who I know well enough to recognise their name when they add me. I know this seems quite contrary to the amount of exposure that somebody gets by vlogging on YouTube, but I’m stuck in my reclusive ways and so if you add me on Facebook and I turn you down, then please don’t take it as a slight on your personality!

You know what’s rather fun about living in GMT+0? When I go to bed it’s the evening for my friends in the US, when I wake up it’s the evening for my friends in Australia. Nice.

So things are pretty up and down on YouTube at the moment. My ‘In My Lifetime’ video is doing amazingly well, with eighty-three responses so far, making it the most responded today, third most responded this week and about fifty-third most responded ever. I had sort of hoped that it might stand a chance of getting featured, but that was an over-optimistic hope I suspect. Even without a feature, I see this continuing to get a fair bit of attention, due to all these responses, which makes me very happy indeed!

Something that is making me less happy at the moment is some of the feedback I’m getting on my oneawesomefanboy channel, some constructive criticism has been bugging me. I’ve been thinking for a while that a change is in order, so I’m going to make one - announcement video coming on Sunday.

So today I was feeling particularly geekily motivated and so I decided to finally get round to updating the galleries on my main site (www.jerrycooke.co.uk) with fresh new pictures in nice funky new flash galleries that remind me a little of my photo-wall. I also finally replaced my Myspace link with a YouTube link - to reflect my huge change in priorities. Anyway, head over there and have a looksie, leave your opinions in the comments!
